Cinematic
Atmospheric
Honest
You've already decided you don't want the big wedding. That part's clear. What's less clear: finding someone who actually understands why.
Most photographers say they "get it" and then spend two hours putting you into traditional forms. Smile at the camera. Look happy. Photos for everyone else, not for you.
I shoot a lot of silhouettes, environmental portraits, architectural frames. Shots where you're part of the composition, not the subject of it. I'll tell you where to stand, what to do. But not how to look doing it.
What you get are photos that feel like the choice you made: real, not performed. Art you can actually put on your walls without feeling like you're staring at yourself.

I photograph elopements and couples sessions. Hamburg to the Dolomites. Copenhagen to the Irish cliffs.
I'm Bjørn. Based in Hamburg, working across Europe. Documentary approach, cinematic feel. I don't capture perfect moments. I capture the moody, atmospheric, honest ones. The way you reach for each other without thinking. The silence between words. The part of your story that doesn't need an audience.

This was A. and M., two introverts who left their city behind for one night in the mountains.

You don't need to know exactly what you want. You don't need to have visited the location before. You don't need to be "photogenic" or comfortable in front of a camera.
Most couples I work with aren't. The first ten minutes feel awkward. Then something shifts. You forget I'm there. You start talking about something random. Laughing. Touching each other the way you always do.
That's when the real photos happen. Not the first ten minutes. The moment you stop performing and just exist together.

how THIS ACTUALLY WORKS

Two people. One story. Somewhere between Hamburg and the Italian Alps, the Irish cliffs, or wherever feels right.

You've been together for years. You don't need an occasion. You just realized you've never had photos that feel like you. Like the way you actually are together.

For those choosing themselves over expectations. Documentary honesty. No performance. Just exactly who you are.
Stories from couples who chose differently
After searching for hours for a photographer who could deliver cinematic shots and was comfortable photographing two Black gay men, finding Björn's portfolio felt like hitting the jackpot. He absolutely exceeded expectations.
